These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Knotwell. They describe what Knotwell is, what you agree to when you sign up, and what is and isn’t permitted on the platform. Knotwell currently operates in a Creator Beta — some wording below describes the planned behaviour at general availability.

What Knotwell is

Knotwell is a marketplace for digital products — prompts, agents, templates, datasets, courses, automations, and small apps. When you publish an asset, you set the share that flows upstream to every parent asset in the chain. When a buyer purchases a bundle, Knotwell walks the chain and pays each creator the share they set.

Knotwell provides the platform. Knotwell does not produce, endorse, or guarantee any asset listed by a creator. Knotwell does not act as a creator’s agent or as a buyer’s agent. Knotwell processes payments through third-party payment providers and routes payouts to creator-designated accounts.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials, API keys, and recovery methods secure. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up, and to keep it current when it changes.

One Knotwell account per person. We don’t allow shared accounts, throwaway accounts, or accounts created to bypass a prior suspension. If you operate a team or studio, each individual creator who publishes assets on Knotwell must hold their own account.

Acceptable use

The following are not permitted on Knotwell. We may remove content or take action against an account that:

  • Uploads assets you don’t own or don’t have the right to license.
  • Makes false claims about income, royalties, or future payouts on Knotwell.
  • Frames a creator’s chain as an investment opportunity or a security.
  • Spams the marketplace, the chat surfaces, or creators with unsolicited offers.
  • Attempts to scrape, automated-test, or otherwise strain the platform without written permission.
  • Uses Knotwell to deliver malware, prompt-injection payloads, or anything designed to harm a buyer’s system.

Your content and your rights

You keep ownership of the assets you upload. By publishing an asset on Knotwell, you grant each buyer the license tier you chose (personal, commercial, or extended) and you grant Knotwell a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, and route the asset and any derivative products it appears in — including as part of payouts along the chain.

You can remove an asset from sale at any time. Removal does not retroactively un-license copies already delivered to buyers, and does not refund completed sales.

Our rights and responsibilities

Knotwell may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including specific features and public APIs. Knotwell may display your public profile, your assets, and any reviews you leave on the marketplace and on related surfaces.

We try to keep Knotwell up and accurate, but the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Knotwell disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Sanctions and enforcement

If you violate these terms, we may remove content, suspend features, or terminate your account. The remedy we choose depends on the violation and its context. Where possible we’ll warn you first; for clearer-cut violations (fraud, illegal content, harassment) we may act immediately.

Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time from your settings page. When you close your account, your public profile and unlisted assets are removed; transactions already completed remain on our books. We may keep minimal records (your email and a hashed password) for anti-fraud and tax-compliance purposes where required.

We may terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, fail to remedy a breach after we ask you to, or if keeping your account open would expose Knotwell or other creators to legal or security risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll post the new version and update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we’ll give you reasonable notice by email or by an in-product announcement. Continued use after a material change means you accept the new terms.
