Knotwell does not guarantee sales, income, royalties, or enforceability of user-supplied custom terms. Creators are responsible for confirming that they own or have permission to publish every asset.

These Marketplace Terms describe the rules of buying and selling on Knotwell. They sit on top of the Site Terms and the Creator Agreement — if they conflict, the more specific document governs.

Listing rules for creators

  • Every listing must have a real asset behind it — a downloadable item, a usable prompt, a runnable agent, a course, etc.
  • Every listing must declare its upstream chain — the asset you composed from, the share each upstream creator gets, and the license terms you’re honouring.
  • You may not list a placeholder, an empty shell, or a listing whose only purpose is to drive traffic to an off-platform sale.
  • You may not advertise an ROI, an income target, or a “passive earning” framing. Knotwell does not host investment-style listings.
  • You may not list assets whose primary purpose is to bypass sanctions or geo-restrictions on third-party platforms.

Buyer rules

  • You must hold a payment method that Knotwell’s payment processor accepts in your jurisdiction.
  • You may not buy a bundle to scrape, resell, or redistribute it in violation of the creator’s license tier.
  • You may not dispute a charge with your bank without first trying to resolve the issue through Knotwell — see the Refunds policy.
  • You agree that the platform fee, the upstream-chain shares, and the creator’s share are all part of the price you see, not hidden fees added at checkout.

What Knotwell is not

Knotwell is a marketplace and a payout router. Knotwell is not a brokerage, not an investment platform, not an employer, and not a talent agency. Knotwell is not a place to sell tokens, securities, or any instrument that promises future returns from other people’s work.

Chains are not products

The visible upstream chain on an asset page shows who gets paid when a buyer purchases. The chain is information, not a tradable instrument. A buyer cannot purchase a chain, buy into a chain, or acquire any future claim on the proceeds of another creator’s upstream share.

Disputes between creators and buyers

For disputes about the quality of an asset, the buyer’s first recourse is Knotwell’s Refunds policy and the creator’s stated refund policy on the asset page. For disputes about copyright, see the Copyright & DMCA policy.
